Blurb:
A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

FIERCELY CAPTIVATING

Without the PG-13

There aren’t enough adjectives in the world to explain how beautifully mesmerising this book is. This book is absolute perfection for fans of Sarah J. Maas and for those who want to read THE BEST retelling of Beauty and the Beast.

The world building is immensely detailed and continues throughout the book giving you a vivid picture to the magic and powers that each Faerie Court offers. Within each court faeries are part of a hierarchy from powerful High Lords to the lesser fae. I loved learning about each individual’s past, their traditions, and their magic! You can see the connections to Beauty & the Beast throughout the story but you do forget about it because of Maas’ ability to put a magnificent twist on a classic.

The characters are truly wonderful, there weren't as many as I thought there would be but this just gave me more time with them Tamlin. It’s a slow burning, agonising read with wicked twists of words, riddles and half-truths that will keep you on your toes. This book is told from Feyre’s point of view, who was starved of a real childhood as she began to hunt in the forest to feed her family. She was able to grow so much as a character and you truly root and admire her ferocious nature. Tamlin was a lot more than I was expecting and by that I mean loin-burningly sexy. Some scenes I was completely swooning and blushing so hard, damn you Maas and your steamy writing!

BUT WAIT

Yes the romance was perfect well told and yet again HAWWWWT. But fellow romance girls I have BIG NEWS. There is an ANTI-HERO that surpasses and obliterates the Darkling ;) Rhys is now my new book boyfriend! I have never ever switches love interests so fast in my life! There is no love triangle in this book but there is a potential for one *SQUELS* if Maas’ decides to go there. Since when am I wanting a second love interest?! If you do read this book and have the same feelings please tell me because I seriously need someone to fangirl with! There’s no cliffhanger in this book but you are left with a beautiful ending and so so so much potential for Maas to take us next, I can’t wait!

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a stunning new release by Maas and is completely different from her earlier work. This is now competing to be my favourite with Throne of Glass, ahh decisions! I absolutely cherished this book from start to finish with her epic plot and world building to her consuming romance. I can’t recommend this book enough, I enjoyed reading this so much and I already want it removed from my brain so I can start again and enjoy ALL THE FEELS! I’ll leave you with the quote that stuck with me most.

“Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don’t feel anything at all.”
