Book Haul

Hey Guys!

So I thought I'd share with you my latest book haul, one because they're so pretty and it would be rude of me not to ;), but mainly because I got these idea's from some of your reviews and Goodreads. I'm really excited about reading these and hopefully discovering some new favourite's along the way, between these, re-reading the Throne of Glass series and some Arc's and eArc's I'm going to have a busy August!

Scorched by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I adore JLA, her writing is amazing and she's always coming up with great new concepts for YA but the main reason I read her novels is because of her romances.. they're sensational! It also doesn't hurt that every male character is drop dead gorgeous hahaha. This is her latest NA Contemporary Romance and it's received some great reviews so I can't wait to get lost in another JLA romance.

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Mcguire

Speaking of Contemporary Romance, this was got to be my all time favourite and the best of McGuire's books. I discovered this book last year on my Kindle and haven't forgotten it since, every romance I read is automatically compared to this. I just had to get my own paperback version because it's just not the same reading it electronically, this book with no doubt be showing some serious signs of wear by next year. Travis Maddox is The Number 1 Book Boyfriend <3

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

I have a confession.. I've never read a book by this woman (don't shout). To be honest I've never really heard of her until a few months ago but since then she's all I hear about. The majority of the blogs I visit frequently are always commenting on her writing and books and the majority of the reviews on Goodreads say she's the Best YA Contemporary Romance writer out there. This definitely does not go unnoticed as I am a sucker for a good heartthrob and a shamelessly hopeless romantic. Safe to say I needed to read this book, I know I'm going to be checking out her Never Never series too but before I go down the Paranormal route I need to check out her romance writing asap.

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes

I figured I'd probably shopped a little too much in the Romance section (if there's such a thing) and decided to get back to some High Fantasy. I've been meaning to read this book for a while now as it's supposed to be fast paced with plenty of characters and amazing world building. Plus it's about princes/princesses, rebels, sorcerers and magic? What's not to love.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

This YA dystopian series has received so much praise lately and I've recently found out it's going to be a movie! Although these seldom work out great like The Mortal Instruments Series, the books are always so much better, I thought it's best to read them first. Although hands down the Harry Potter movies are the greatest. I've also seen these books marked as some of my fellow blogger's favourites so I know I'm sure to love it!

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

If you've visited my blog before then you will have no doubt seen my ridiculously long list of reasons as to why you should read this book in my review. This book kept me up all night as I was unable to put this down, I'm so excited that this book is going to be a series as it was originally supposed to be a standalone and I was left with soo many questions. The journey continues hooray!

Queen of Someday by Sherry D. Ficklin

This is a Historical Fiction Romance and it's about time a good one came along, my shelves are lacking in this department, so the sound of royals, empresses, court politics and a good romance is exactly what I am looking for. Although it's supposedly somewhat contains a love square it's still getting great reviews? So it really must be good but on some reviews it says the heroine has a love triangle but also takes a lover?... WHAT? This isn't a bad thing at all, it's about time we had a promiscuous MC and a royal no less doing exactly what she wants because let's not forget this is a Historical Romance and a multitude of love interests in somewhat expected no? Either way I can't wait to actually find out what this book is about.

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima

I rounded my latest book haul with another high fantasy, I seriously can't get enough of this genre, I always find my captivated and wanting more. I just knew I had to have this series when many people on Goodreads said this is perfect for lovers of The Lumatere Chronicles. The Lumatere Chronicles was a 5 star read for every book, so if anyone likes High Fantasy I urge you to check out this series first, Melinda Marchetta is an absolute wonder and her writing is simply superlative. The Demon King includes princesses, thieves  wizards and lots of magic so again this was a no brainer; I simply must read it!

If any of you have read these books let me know what you think,
please be good!

  1. You should read Shatter Me! The first few chapters are kind of hard to get through for some people, because of the writing style, but some people find it beautiful. If you feel like giving up, keep going! It's really worth it :)

  3. I agree with the other 2 ladies ... Shatter Me is amazing! Such a great series! But actually I need to say something about Colleen Hoover. You said I/we shouldn't shout but ... OH MY GOD. Never Never is great too, yes, but please, please, please check out "Maybe Someday" - it's so special, unique and dear to my heart and has an amazing soundtrack to listen to. SO MANY EMOTIONS! ♥ Ugly Love and Confess are pretty good too ... very emotional. I shed LOTS of tears.

I'll read your review for An Ember In The Ashes now ... I loved this book and can't wait to read what you thought about it! I hope you'll enjoy all these books! <3

  5. Queen of Someday has been on my TBR list for ages! I seriously hope that the book lives up to its hype and to its beautiful cover.

I didn’t really like the Shatter Me series but I hope it works out for you. I do have to admit, though, the series gets better as the books progress.

I am loving this cover of Hopeless! It looks so much better than the US edition.

The Demon King and Falling Kingdoms both look so interesting! Definitely checking out those two titles soon.

Great haul and happy reading! :)
