The Heartless cover is here yaaaayy...
OFF WITH YOUR HEADS!
Long before she was the terror of Wonderland — the infamous Queen of Hearts — she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love.
Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the yet-unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts with delectable pastries and confections. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next Queen.
At a royal ball where Cath is expected to receive the king's marriage proposal, she meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship.
Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.
I don't think I can handle my excitement for this book.
More Marissa Meyer, more re-tellings, more twists and turns and now she's tackling Wonderland? Surely I can't the only one who absolutely adores everything Alice?! I think if it were any other author then I would be a little nervous because as I've said on numerous occasions A. G. Howard has ruined all other Alice and Wonderland re-tellings. Her Splintered series was phenomenal and will always be my favourite, even though I wasn't the happiest with the end of the series I can't seem to forget her gothic world, gorgeous writing and fantastic characters *cough Morpheus cough*.

Yes more of Marissa Meyer all the time! This book is going to be epic, I can't wait :D
ReplyDeleteSO EXCITED, I love it!!
DeleteI love, love, love that cover! It's so simple, but beautiful at the same time.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree, I just want it now!!
DeleteI have to be honest, I am a little disappointed with the cover. I can look past it, though, because Marissa Meyer is fabulous when it comes to retellings and I know the inside will be amazing. I still need to finish the Splintered series! XD
ReplyDeleteSarah @ Kerosene Lit
Hopefully it will look a different in print, maybe it will be embossed and be all shiny! I do love books that have that little extra to them :D
DeleteAhhh I can't believe that Marissa Meyer wrote a new book and I had no idea about it!! The premise sounds so interesting and the cover looks great - I can't wait!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy she's writing another book, I'm not ready to leave The Lunar Chronicles behind just yet :)
DeleteThank you for submitting your blog for my blog hop because I have found another favourite ! Your header is to die for and so is your content. I've never read a Marissa Meyer book but I think I should now !
ReplyDeleteMeleika
Aww thank you so much Meleika, that's so kind! Oh my god yes, definitely give her books a try, they're fantastic!! <3
DeleteHaha, you're completely right about AG Howard having ruined Alice in Wonderland for us! Nothing will ever compare to how amazing that series was (and Morpheus) And knowing Meyer and her ability to weave a tale of a villain like she did in Fairest, she's going to do an amazing job in this one!
ReplyDeleteMORPHEUS LOVE! I know, I would have loved her to do a simple Alice and Wonderland re-telling but the fact that she's doing the Queen of Hearts.... this could be interesting! :P
DeleteMarissa Meyer is back!! I cannot wait to read this one, it sounds so great! The cover is amazing... Alice in Wonderland retellings are so popular, but not many authors can get it right. Let's hope Meyer does - though I do have no doubt that she will.
ReplyDeleteAgreed Cloe, if anyone can do it and do it well it's Meyer. Her writing is beautiful and her imagination knows no bounds so I think this will be a big success!
DeleteI love the cover and I seriously cannot wait! I love Wonderland!
ReplyDeleteMissie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
Me too, Wonderland is amazing and I can't wait to see Meyer's spin on it :D
